Farm Kids Mini Farmers School Holiday Program
April 6 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm$130
Farm Kids Mini Farmers
@ The Farm Byron Bay
The kids become mini farmers at our Farm Kids Mini Farmers program and after a detailed tour get set to work doing farm chores. We collect eggs, restock our pet chickens bedding, ensure they have fresh water and clean out the coup. We work on our dedicated Farm Kids garden plot and tend to our onsite worm Subpod. If the opportunity arises, we assist the farmers with their chores. They forage, cook, make natural products, create and see where their food comes from as well as experience countless opportunities to learn about teamwork, community, and ethical farming practices.

What is included?
Our Farm Kids Mini Farmers Program introduces children to real life farming. They get their hands dirty and learn many aspects of organic and sustainable farming.
A hands on fun tour of the farm begins the day, checking the pigs and bees and restocking our pet chicken’s bedding. Then we ensure they have fresh food and drinking water and we collect the eggs. We tend to our onsite worm Subpod and If the opportunity arises, we assist the farmers with their chores.
The group will work on our dedicated Farm Kids garden plot and harvest the produce if it is ready. If there are tasks available, we will also work alongside Liberation Larder on their market garden and learn how proper nurturing leads to healthy food production for families in need in our community. (Tasks will vary depending on what is needed to do at that time)
We make Butter, Pesto or Nut Butter from scratch to put on The Bread Social’s, freshly baked bread for afternoon tea.
We paint and create a planter and/or a mini herb garden which the kids can replant at home to start their very own garden. We make lip balm and cute little soaps to take home out of natural products . (Activities can change depending on the group of children)
Rest and Play
Of course, we let the kids have breaks and rest throughout the day. We have a beautiful collection of books and some games and if time permits the children can have some free craft time and play games in the orchard.
