Farm Kids returns to The Farm Byron Bay these April school holidays with hands on farm workshops, animal encounters, cooking, nature craft and creative learning experiences for children aged 5 and over.

Hands On Farm Adventures at The Farm Byron Bay

Farm Kids is bringing an exciting series of April 2026 School Holiday Workshops to The Farm Byron Bay, designed for children aged 5 and over who love animals, nature and hands on learning. Each session begins with an educational and engaging tour of The Farm, where children learn about cows, pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, orchards and veggie gardens. We explore paddock rotation, pollination, organic farming, composting, soil health and ethical farming practices, with opportunities to meet pet chickens and taste seasonal produce when available.

Wednesday 8 April – Let’s Go Nuts! (9.30am – 12.30pm) Half Day Adventure!

Children will crack, taste, plant and create with nuts and seeds. Activities include making homemade macadamia dukkah and crafting creative nut shell art while learning how seeds grow into plants.

Friday 10 April – Mini Farmers: Get Your Goat! (9am – 3pm) Full day Adventure!

Kids will learn about goat diets, grazing versus foraging, weed control and goat breeds. Activities include goat themed art, cooking pikelets with whipped goat’s cheese, honey and autumn fruit, and feeding and cuddling the goat herd.

Wednesday 15 April – Wildcrafted Wonders! (9.30am – 12.30pm) Half Day Adventure!

Children will explore medicinal herbs and flowers before creating natural products such as lip balm and botanical bath salts using garden foraged ingredients.

Friday 17 April – Mini Farmers: Charming Chickens! (9am – 3pm) Full day Adventure!

Participants will learn about heritage chicken breeds, life cycles and regenerative farming. Activities include making an egg shell beeswax candle, creating chicken themed art and cooking egg fried rice using fresh farm eggs.
