Winter Farm Adventures at The Farm Byron Bay

Join Farm Kids at The Farm Byron Bay these July school holidays for a series of hands on workshops designed to connect children with nature, animals, food and sustainable farming. Suitable for children aged 5 and over, every session begins with an educational farm tour where children learn about our cows, pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, orchard and veggie gardens while exploring concepts such as pollination, composting, organic farming and healthy soil.

Located in the heart of Byron Bay, these engaging school holiday workshops combine creativity, farm education, gardening, cooking and animal encounters in a fun and supportive environment.

Wednesday 8 July | 9.30am – 12.30pm
Sunshine Harvest

Brighten the winter holidays with a citrus adventure bursting with fresh flavours and sunshine. Children will explore different citrus fruits, learn how orchards are cared for throughout the seasons, make a refreshing homemade citrus drink and create a natural cleaning spray using citrus peels and herbs.

Goat & Gather

Meet the farm’s playful goats and discover why these clever animals are an important part of regenerative farming. Children will enjoy an educational goat talk, learn about different breeds, design a dream goat shelter and decorate delicious muffins with homemade goat’s cheese icing.

Friday 10 July | 9am – 3pm
Mini Farmers: Buzz & Bloom

Step into the fascinating world of bees and discover how these tiny pollinators help farms and gardens thrive. Children will explore a Flow Hive, enjoy a bee suit demonstration, participate in a honey and herb tea ceremony, create bee themed printmaking and roll handmade beeswax candles to take home.

Seed to Supper

Dig into the veggie garden and discover how fresh food grows from seed to plate. Children will learn about companion planting and seasonal crops, make fresh rice paper rolls and create colourful veggie inspired artwork and printmaking.

Thursday 16 July | 9.30am – 12.30pm
Pods & Play

Explore the fascinating world of legumes and discover how these tiny pods help keep soil healthy and gardens thriving. Activities include building a snow pea teepee, sewing a handmade bean bag and enjoying outdoor yard games.

Friday 17 July | 9am – 3pm
Mini Farmers: Hens, Herbs & Hay

Cluck into a fun filled day learning all about happy, healthy chickens and their role on the farm. Children will explore the chicken life cycle, build a nesting box, create treats for the chickens and cook homemade egg and herb fritters using fresh farm ingredients.

Farm Kids workshops at The Farm Byron Bay provide children with meaningful experiences that foster creativity, curiosity, confidence and a deeper connection to nature. Families can book individual workshops or attend multiple sessions throughout the school holidays.
